GIG welcomed Mr. Bernard Bay!

📅✨ On July 18, 2024, Glowny Instytut Gornictwa – Panstwowy Instytut Badawczy had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Bernard Bay at the Barbara Experimental Mine! Mr. Bay is the director of the Superior Art School of Tournai in Belgium and a specialist in industrial and mining photography 📸⛏️.

During his visit, Mr. Bay took stunning photos in the Barbara mine’s workings, a location that has captivated many photographic artists 📷🏞️. With this series at KD Barbara, he completed his photographic documentation of Silesia’s mining heritage 🏆.

In recent years, he has also captured the essence of many mines in the Dąbrowa Basin, including KWK Kazimierz-Juliusz 🏞️🏭. Bernard Bay’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and has won several awards across various European coal basins 🏅🌍.
