In regards to the economic and technological terms, CoalHeritage will result in the identification of best practices of transformation of sites and areas into industrial heritage objects.
The project will significantly contribute to the following Industrial/Economic/Technological outcomes described below:
- Up-take by private funding agencies for the transformation of the mines into museums
The identification of best practices for transformation of sites and areas into industrial heritage objects will lead to an uptake by private funding agencies, providing at the end new services by transforming the coal mines into museums.
- Incorporation of best practices regarding transformation of mining sites and places into industrial and cultural heritage – while carrying out of transition processes.
An incorporation of best practices for mining sites can also be achieved through the reskilling of the former mine workers that will help counteract the loss of jobs from the closure of the mines while carrying out the transition processes. This will contribute to the digital and circular transformation of the Coal Communities.
- Smooth transfer of funds to mining municipalities for the re-adaptation of post-mining areas in order to prepare them for new investments
The project will launch a European Visual Map Journal contributing to a smooth transfer of funds to mining municipalities for the readaptation of post-mining areas in order to prepare them for new investments leading in long term to an economic growth of those regions.
